Pictures For The People (Patrick Lowney, Sami Larabi)

A relatively quick turnaround corporate film for the insurance and pensions company AEGON to communicate their new 'Simplify' initiative to their workforce at an annual conference (and obviously consequently on their internal boards).

It was really nice to do some traditional hand drawn animation for the spot yet for it to still be achievable in a short space of time.

Initially they wanted the typical obvious 'drawn-by-hand' film that you can get from lots of those quick online companies for fiver but we wanted something a little (little) bit more sophisticated. I'd actually created quite a cool system for the hand to properly write/draw with a moving thumb and faux 3D pencil but time (and budget) didn't allow for this to be extensively implemented. I'd like to try it again on another job as I think it would add a slightly more deeper level of detail.
