This is the site of Mr Jim Le Fevre, a BAFTA and British Animation Award winning free-lance film maker mostly working in animation.
He discovered an interesting thing a few years back with a record player and a camera and has been playing around with it (but not nearly enough as he should have been) ever since.
Although freelance he is represented for commercials and some other projects by Nexus Productions.
He is also involved with James Rawlings and Ben Bond helping set up hootcomedy.com a comedy site using real actors and animation too. A variety of projects are being developed and I can’t wait to share them all with you.
As well as making films for the last ten or fifteen years he has illustrated books and cds including Artsongs for the Tate gallery (which you can hear excerpts from here) and at one point illustrations for the now hopefully defunct soft porn magazine ‘Front’. He is currently working with Catrin Dfydd on a short illustration book about Gulls and Buoys.
He’s sure he does more than that too but can’t quite remember as he’s struggling to write in the third person.
He also teaches and has recently been asked to be on the Skillset board of assessors.
Oh, yes, he’s Creative Director of Abundance Generation.
His most exciting and most perfect production has been with his beautiful wife Rebecca (who doesn’t like being called beautiful on the site) and is a live action daughter called Iris who was delivered on the 5th of September 2009. There will be many updates on this as it is an ongoing project but, as befits the offspring of an animation director, things like this will happen to her…
He can be contacted by composing an email using the word jim followed by that curly at sign followed by nexusproductions and then a fullstop and then the word com.
