I’ll let you discover how its done but the technique that Josh has discovered is made justified by what he’s done with it (and a lovely track he’s done it to aswell). Pass it around!!

Kuky book

I’ve just had an email from Jakub Dvorsky from Amanita design announcing the forthcoming publication of an illustrated story book from the upcoming film Kuky which I posted a trailer from a while back.

It looks absolutely superb and although out in Czech at the moment there will be an english translation hard copy and e-book out very soon…

Oh, here’s a second trailer with subtitles (I do hope they release it with the original Czech and subtitles as the English dubbed trailer really lacked a lot of the charm!)

Clemens Kogler – another Phonopioneer

Have a watch of Clemens Kogler’s “Stuck in the Groove” film.

Really clever and tight design based around album cover techniques paired with his own experiments of zoetrope/record player. We’re taking over the world it seems!

Also have a look at some of his other stuff, especially the film pastiche of ‘Filmiris’ which shares a similarly clever design and thoughtful approach using another cool technique the ‘Stratastencil’ which was revived and re-invented by Javan Ivey

Heavy Pencil at the ICA

I’m doing an evening at the ICA called Heavy Pencil on May 27th if anyone fancies popping down and seeing some Phonotrope action.

I’m going to pull my finger out and concoct as many new discs as possible for it so there wont be the usual stuff you’ve seen before (I hope).
