Lena is a wonderfully unique person whom I met outside a pub in Queens Park in London last year.
She spent six months with the Ocean going God, Erik, on a ‘piece of shit’ boat sailing from Mexico to Thailand across the North Pacific Ocean. She is a war reporter/photo journalist and is currently getting together a book of the adventure as well as trying to fix a flood which happened in her flat while she was away.
The story is quite a staggeringly beautiful account of the journey where she met pirates, got stranded on an uncharted reef and never got to see any whales.
