Written and created by Phil Whelans
Voice – Alan Marriot, Phil Whelans, Alys Torrance and another woman who was ace too
Music – Written and performed by a friend of Phils (with Phil doing backing voice and probably playing bass on it too)

I met Phil while doing Rockit Huntington and years later he rang me up and we put this together. The idea, the characters, the scripts and the sense of humour in the series were terrific (still are). I’d like to put the pilot animatic up one day but I need to ask Phil first.

Phil is multifarious (and proud of it) and amongst the many things he does is The Pros From Dover and Grand Theft Impro as well as having written KNTV (which you can also see here).

In the meantime here are some basic movement and lipsync tests (VOs from voice-overs from showreels), the style and technique was structured so that it could be done tremendously cheaply. I’d still love to make this series, I think it would be very very funny.

Aha! For the price on a third of my soul Mr Whelans has graciously allowed me to post the animatic…

It’s about 5′ 30″ long

As it’s an animatic the titles are rudimentary colours and shapes for cutting and pacing (with a couple of elements dropped in but nothing more), however I started doing some lipsyncing and colour tests which I have dropped over the first couple of scenes.

It was designed and devised to be made quickly and efficiently on a low budget with a small crew. The animatic and test was done in a short-ish period of time with just me on my own. Stylistically and with one or two more people helping out there would be a little more information on screen (but not *much* more) and I think the animation would be tweaked so it was a little less jagged (but again not by much).

As I’ve said, it’s a terrific script and idea and I’d be happy to carry on with it as would Phil so anyone interested drop us a line.
