Just been watching some of Animalcolms stuff on Vimeo. It’s all very lovely but this really touched me, with overtones of Pez (well, as soon as you do anything with stop-frame pixellations you’re going to be compared to him) but so much more on top of it you canreally lose yourself in it.

Just received a couple of things I ordered from Jordan Crane and discovered a wonderful surprise in the form of an upgrade.

I can’t tell how jaw dropping it looks in real life but imagine this at 26″ by 40″. It sucks you in and wraps you up, I can tell you. I’m looking forward to seeing how our little pudding grows up with it. Inspired or traumatised we’ll find out…

I urge you to have a browse through his other work and to lament some of those that are out of print, and also have a look at his books as I can highly recommend ‘The Clouds Above’ with his ‘Extra Fancy’ version with a beautiful hand pulled cover.

He also recently did the cover for Michael Chabon’s ‘Maps and Legends’. A joy for everyone.

Anyhow, fourteen days till our visitor arrives and it’s going to arrive into a house of art and culture, thanks Jordan!

I’m aware that by remit of having a blog I should be posting regularly however apart from my day to day life I have nothing of relevence to post.

There’s a very very good article by David O’Reilly which is a distillation of a talk which he’s done a few times on authenticity and aesthetics. Even reading this I would urge you to go and see him talking, especially as this covers only a small amount of what he talks about.
